Clean Your House!
by Mary
Louise;Town Jaqua, Health
Minister.....4-5-15
Forget the mops, pails, and
rubber gloves, and go grab the
citrus fruit, greens, and garlic, for it
is time to clean the inside
of your body! Yes, just as a house needs
to be cleaned, the
body is a living place that must
be cleaned, also. While
most
people give diligence to cleaning the
outside of the body,
more important is the cleansing of the
interior. Removing
accummulated waste from body cells,
tissues, and organs is
a necessary process in order to achieve
superior health!
Why Cleanse?
Everyone knows that a dirty
house is not a healthy environment.
If no one vacuumed, dusted, cleaned the
sinks and toilets, or
took out the trash, the house would
quickly become uninhabitable.
Likewise, the human body responds
unfavorably when toxins
build up inside. Toxins result when
- individual cells
turn nutrients into energy via
the
manufacturing process, producing
by-products
called waste
- the body is exposed
to polluting agents in the
environment, i.e. in the air,
water, or ground
- the body is fed poor
or inferior food
- pharmaceutical drugs
are consumed
- vaccines are
injected into the body
Toxins are poisons,
and if they are not removed, they
become potential health risks, i.e.
sickness and disease
in the making. These poisons are largely
identified as
man-made chemicals and assorted heavy
metals which
invade the body for the sole purpose of
destroying it.
Parasites are also foreign invaders that
are a toxic threat,
since they pollute the inner environment
while sucking the
life out of the body. To protect and
preserve the body's
well being, it is thus imperative to
eliminate interior poisons
through a process called detoxification
or cleansing.
Detoxification means cleaning
the blood. This is done
by removing impurities from the blood in
the liver, where
toxins are processed for elimination. The
body also
eliminates toxins through the kidneys,
intestines, lungs,
lymph nodes and skin. However, when this
system is
overloaded, impurities aren't properly
filtered and every
cell in the body is adversely affected.
Symptoms of a toxic
body
The appearance of
assorted health issues is often a sign
that the body is overburdened, aka polluted,
and needs
to be cleaned out. Much like a car needs
a periodic tune
up or an oil change, the body begs
cleaning, too. A sluggish
liver and elimination system cause toxins
to circulate and
recirculate in the blood. Hence, once the
blood is purified,
cells, tissues, and organs can begin to
function normally.
Common signs of a toxic overload include
(but are not
limited to):
- Unexplained fatigue
- Sluggish elimination
- Irritated skin
- Acne
- Allergies
- Low-grade infections
- Puffy eye or bags
under the eyes
- Bloating
- Menstrual problems
- Mental confusion
- Negative emotions
Cleansing: the
benefits
Reading the body's alarm signals and
helping it
naturally cleanse itself brings
beneficial results.
Cleansing supports the body's well being
by:
1. Resting the organs
2. Stimulating the liver to
eliminate toxins
3. Promoting elimination through the
skin,
intestines, kidneys, and lymph system
4. Improving circulation
5. Refueling the body with healthy
nutrients
Many health problems are
commonly resolved by
simply cleansing the body, proving that a
clean
body promotes superior health. As toxins
are
eliminated, the body responds with
increased energy,
improved clarity of mind, emotional
stability, balanced
weight, and more.
Cleansing: Where to begin
There are many ways
to naturally cleanse the body.
Likewise, there are countless programs,
methods,
products, and approaches that can
effectively
eliminate toxins such as juice fasts,
smoothie
cleanses, detox diets, colonics, enemas,
oil
pulling, clay foot baths/baths, herbal
cleanses,
charcoal drinks, body brushing, etc.
While protocols
differ, basic principles of cleansing
remain the same:
1. Improve your
dietary choices:
- Incorporate more
fresh, raw fruits and
vegetables (preferrably organic)
into your
diet. Beets, radishes,
artichokes, cabbage,
broccoli, spirulina, chlorella,
and seaweed
are excellent elimination foods.
Natural fiber
found in fresh foods aids the
elimination
system.
- Eliminate common
sources of toxicity such
as alcoholic and caffeinated
beverages,
processed and animal-based foods,
refined foods, wheat, and
tobacco.
- Drink at least two
quarts of purified
(preferrably distilled) water
daily. Distilled
water pulls out toxins from the
body. Add
fresh lemon juice to accelerate
cleansing.
- Drink herbal teas to
facilitate cleansing,
i.e. green tea, dandelion, ginger
- Eat fermented foods
such as sauerkraut,
kimchi to aid intestinal health
2. Improve your
lifestyle choices:
- Breathe deeply to
increase oxygen intake
and improve circulation
- Dry-brush your skin
- Take detox baths or
foot baths
- Sweat in a sauna to
aid elimination through
perspiring
- Get plenty of rest
- Learn to relax
- Avoid obvious
environmental toxins,
including second-had smoke
- Avoid negative
thinking
- Avoid negative
relationships
- Avoid stress
3. Increase exercise
- Engage in a daily
exercise routine that
causes the body to perspire. The
skin
is the largest elimination organ
in the
body. A good sweat pulls out
toxins.
- Take a brisk, 20
minute walk daily
- Rebound
- Begin a stretching
routine
Cleansing: What to
expect
As the body is
actively dislodging and expelling
toxins, discomfort can result. While this
discomfort
is temporary, it is common to experience
symptoms
such as
- Headache
- Stomach ache
- Cough
- Diarrhea
- Skin eruptions/rash
- Clogged sinus
- Fever
- Lethargy
- Irritability
- Dizziness
- Emotional stress
Though adverse, these
symptoms should be
regarded as a good sign that the
cleansing
process is working. A clean body is in
the
making! As toxins leave, it is not
uncommon
to have putrid body odor and/or bad
breath.
Such is the nature of poisons, often
identified
as residue from pesticides, herbicides,
and
chemicals that are found in certain
foods,
pharaceutical drugs,
air/water/environment.
Cleansing: how much,
how long
The amount of toxic build up in the body
determines the length of the cleansing
process.
How best to approach cleansing thus
becomes
a personal choice and experience. While
improved
diet, lifestyle choices, and proper
exercise naturally
engage the cleansing process, they do not
necessarily
eliminate the need for a periodic
cleansing. Some
health professionals recommend monthly
maintenance,
while others suggest a bi-annual cleanse
of the two
major filtering organs: the liver and
kidneys. Studies
show that most people have an average of
100 gall
stones, so cleansing the gall bladder to
expell stones
is recommended. A whole body cleanse,
especially
the intestinal tract, should be done
periodically to
maintain the integrity of the digestive
system. Some
cleanses need to be repeated until the
desired goal
is achieved.
Because uncomfortable side
affects often accompany
a cleansing program, some people elect to
abort a
cleanse. While such a decision is
understandable,
stopping a cleanse prematurely negates
its effectiveness.
Thus it is sometimes wise to cleanse the
body in short
rather than long episodes. Nevertheless,
individual
discretion/preference is advised.
Cleansing:
Supplements
Aiding the body in
the cleansing process can be
achieved with herbal supplements such as
- Burdock-
works on the excretory system to
release toxins; purifies the
blood and facilitates
the elimination of toxins through
the skin
- Nettles-
a highly nutritious plant that
decreases
inflammation
- Psyllium-
helps remove wastes from the
intestines
- Dandelion-
a natural diuretic that cleanses
the
blood and helps kidneys excrete
water and salt.
Also supports liver, gall
bladder, and intestines.
- Milk Thistle-
helps repair liver cells damaged
by
toxins; encourages liver cells to
create more bile
which aids digestion and
absorption of nutrients.
Herbal laxatives can also
effectively eliminate toxins.
Likewise probiotics can aid in the
cleansing process
by replenishing healthy bacteria in the
gut. Herbal
formulas for various cleansing
applications, including
parasites, are available on the market,
though personal
research and discretion is advised.
In conclusion
For many people cleansing
the body is a strange
idea of which they want no part. To them
the notion
that the body periodically needs an
internal house
cleaning is sheer poppycock. Such is the
perspective
of those who yet remain unenlightened
concerning
how the human body works.
Before the Hallelujah Diet
came into our lives, we at
The Living Way were introduced to the
concept and
benefits of cleansing through a
publication entitled,
Cleansing or Surgery.
The title alone convinced us
that we were cleansing candidates. Thus,
we cleaned
out our kidneys, liver, gall bladder,
intestines, and our
whole body. These cleanses took a few
months to
complete, but when we finished, each of
us felt a
marked improvement in our health, namely
increased
energy, mental clarity, lightness of
being, and greater
emotional strength. After the cleanses, I
personally
lost my appetite for eggs, dairy, and
most meats.
Little did I know that I was being
prepared for the
Hallelujah Diet.
For over twenty five years I
have been on the
Hallelujah Diet, the last twenty of which
I have been
eating 100% raw, organic foods. Given my
healthy
diet and lifestyle, I am often asked if I
still cleanse.
The answer is yes. Depending on
daily wear and tear,
the body periodically needs a 'tune-up.'
Cleansing
revitalizes the blood and cells,
essentially 'rebooting'
the body for better performance.
No matter the approach,
cleansing the body is a
worthwhile experience that supports total
well being.
Furthermore, it proves the body's
remarkable, innate
ability to heal itself, often resolving
even chronic
and life-threatening conditions. Given
the right diet
and life style choices, the body
naturally corrects
imbalances and finds its proper weight.
No surgery,
pills, or medical modalities are needed.
Resolving
health problems could not be simpler.
