2012 Garden Tour
'One is nearer YAH's heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth'
(Dorothy Frances Gurney)

Red Amaranth
Tall and stately, I love walking among the Red Amaranth
in our garden. A few small seedlings planted about three years ago
have multiplied all over our yard. Each year I look for it to come up,
and this year I was sadly did not see it appear until about mid-summer.
At that point, it was all over the yard...under the clothes line, in every nook
and cranny of the yard, along the fence and the front yard! Wow!
Though its presence is somewhat overpowering and and invasive,
I put up with beauties. Invariably I engage the red stands as I glean
the garden, talking to them and caressing their seedy stalks.
They are stunning plants. Someday I must paint them!

Garden beauties

...tomatoes, zephyr squash, peppers...
oh, so good!

Freshly-dug garlic!
This harvest represents only one half
of our total crop (292 bulbs)!
