OUR HERBS 2010

Here is one of our Lemon Balm plants.
Lemon Balm is an 'easy grow' that tends to be
invasive, so plan on giving it plenty of room to expand
when when planting it. We love to use Lemon Balm. It is
one of the dearest, delicate, aromatic seasonings that adds a
refreshing 'lemony' taste to anything raw. We especially like to
use it in salads. Lemon Balm can also be dried for winter use.
Be careful not to use too much at a time, though, since it is a mild
nervine. Once we used too much of it when juicing,
and we became light-headed!

Here is our Sage plant that is off to a running start
for the season. We have had this Sage plant
for many years, and it is a veteran volunteer
for raw soups, salads, and entrees.
We also dry it for winter use.
Sage tea is known to soothe a sore throat,
but we have no need to use it medicinally!
