The Highway to Health
by Mary Louise;Town Jaqua, Health Minister, 4/8/2025

It is said that life is a journey, for everyone is traveling a certain road in pursuit of his/her dreams and life goals. Thus there are many paths, many roads that lead somewhere, but often the desired destination is not what one had in mind. While some roads can lead to success, others often prove to be disappointing because they fall short of expectations or worse yet they prove to be dead ends. Therefore, the path that we choose to travel ultimately defines our quality of life.

Quality of life means many things to many people. Most people are actively acquiring material possessions. They are good consumers and seek what they believe is 'the good life.' While the pursuit of a good life is noble, the road which is taken to achieve it can be entirely wrong for there is one, underlying factor that influences if not determines quality of life--- that factor being health for without good health, quality of life is compromised and often cut short. In the end we may never reach our destination much less realize our personal dreams and life goals because we were sadly on the wrong road..

Thus the old addage, Health is wealth, can and often does take on new meaning, but how many believe this much less practice it? How many take the issue of personal health seriously? How wealthy are we?

Most people equate wealth with money, but this is not true for money cannot buy health. For the most part, people base their lives and form their lifestyles according to what they were taught by parents, pastors, school teachers as well as what they hear on the television, the internet, movies, and read in books. While traveling these roads can prosper one's well being, what if these trusted sources prove to negatively influence our quality of life? What happens when we adopt lifestyle habits that prove to be unhealthy if not downright harmful? Sadly, most people are travelling roads that are dangerous to their well being only to be surprised when they find themselves in the breakdown lane of life and experience what is called a health crisis.

A health crisis can come in many forms and is usually life-changing. It can be a catalyst, a proverbial 'wake-up' call signaling that we are on the wrong road and need to do something about it...like turn around and get directions.
Thus we can find ourselves in an unexpected, undesirable situation... stranded, lost, and in need of

When stuck in an unhealthy ditch, what should we do? Call road service? Dial 911? Call an ambulance? Find a doctor? How do we pull ourselves out of a health crisis?

In times like this most people seek medical help, but more and more Americans are discovering that modern medicine has its shortcomings. It has pitfalls that can and often exascerbate a health crisis rather than solve it. Thus it is possible that taking the doctor route may prove to only add insult to existing, personal injury.

Therefore it is wise to exercise

before making any health decision.

Consider your options. Take time to research your health crisis. How is it that you ended up with your present health problem(s)? Examine your lifestyle, Be honest. Is your lifestyle on a fast track? Have you been going over the speed limit by accepting poor living standards? Have you been conforming your life to satisfy popular opinions that are promoted, fostered, and/or sanctioned by family, friends, and even health care professionals? If so, it may be time to

Yes, it may be time to make major changes in your life, ones that will pull you out of the ditch and solve your health crisis. More often than not, changing lifestyle habits can improve if not eliminate a health crisis. Exhaustive scientific and medical research prove that most health problems are largely due to
poor diet and lifestyle choices. While this fact may be shocking if not personally offensive, many people have proven it to be true by improving their diets and starting to exercise daily. In short, they got out of the break down lane of life by taking personal

for their health. Many people are discovering that it is possible to resolve numerous health problems by adopting a naturally healthy (wholesome) plant-based lifestyle. They are discovering the remarkable truth that avoiding processed, ultra-processed, animal-based, and cooked foods in favor of eating a diet of at least 70% living plants (real food) allows their bodies to naturally heal themselves. Science, medicine, and scripture attest to the veracity of this fact!

Believe it or not, a life free from sickness, pain, disease, and even death is possible! Vibrant health can be yours! Therefore which road are you traveling today...the high road to health or the low road that leads to sickness, pain, and disease?

It is impossible to go in two directions at once, yet many people travel that route. They bounce back and forth between eating and exercising well and not eating and exercising well. Being a 'middle-of-the roader' is tantamount to serving two masters (Matthew 6:24) and is a symptom of double-mindedness (James 1:8) These routes do not work for they compromise the body's ability to function properly thereby supporting ill health and preventing the body from healing itself. We will either follow YHVH's original plant-based diet (Genesis 1:29) or conform to the vastly popular world's diet of adultered, fractured, fake foods (Romans 12:1). Therefore, what road we choose to travel in life determines our personal

It goes without saying that well-being is a matter of choice. Applying sound principles that are naturally-derived and rooted in scripture prove to be the best if not the only way to achieve superior health. Taking this course can be the journey of a life time that restores the whole body---naturally, spiritually, mentally, emotionally---renewing hope and fulfilling personal well being. An excellent quality of life is possible! Therefore, be kind to yourself and others by traveling the highway of health. You will not be disappointed!

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1:2

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10
