Late
Harvest
Saying 'good-bye' to our 2010
garden
Here I am on a wind-swept day,
showing off one of our mullein plants!
After pulling this beautiful creation, I took it
in the house and hung it up to dry.
A last, glowing, bright spot
in the garden.
I love marigolds and plant them here and there
as joyous smiles in our garden.
In mid-October I planted our garlic for next year's harvest.
I dug six rows and nestled in nearly 150 bulbs, being
careful to cover the bed with a good six inches of
straw mulch. The garlic will 'hibernate' all winter
and begin growing in the spring. This year
I planted five varieties.
