from the Northeast where Hurricane
Sandy is now but a pleasant memory: a storm
that was relatively friendly with not too much
wind or rain. Thanks to unseasonably warm
temperatures, this storm of dubious origin
spared us ice and snow. For this we are thankful.
Outside Sandy has left steel-grey skies that will
hopefully turn blue soon. Afterall, I yet have
more gardening to do!

has been running on high. Our firewood is nearly
all in the barn, our windows are tarped, and the
garden is almost quiet. Inside, the wood stove
and the chimney are cleaned and ready to go.
A few cool, damp days necessitated the season's
first 'wood stove run.' Suffice to say, the warm,

weather challenges and assorted crop failures,
we have enjoyed a good harvest from our back-

time to be prayed up and prepared for whatever

Recipe: Raw Pumpkin Pudding
Spice up your winter
fare by waxing creative

1 cup shredded, raw pumpkin
few stems fresh parsley
few stems fresh mint (optional)
1 tsp. rounded (softened) coconut butter
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup coconut water or purified water (approximate)
Blend ingredients with
enough water to
achieve a creamy consistency. Adjust
ingredients to personal taste.
