IT'S
TIME TO
PREPARE
In light of increasingly uncertain
times, we encourage preparedness in the event of
sudden national or natural emergency. The following
is a list of recommended supplies as well contacts.
Considering the lateness of the hour, keep in mind
that supplies may be limited or soon may not be
available. Base your decisions accordingly.
WATER
It is possible
to go without food for many days, but you can only
survive three days without water. To ensure a supply
of safe drinking water, we suggest investing in a
good water purifying system. We recommend and carry
the Berkefeld water filtering and purifying units.
Berkefeld manufactures a number of proven, reliable
systems for various personal need. For information

FOOD
Food
is essential for every day existence. Live food (raw
vegetables and fruits) is the food of choice, since
it nourishes the body on a cellular level. However,
live food may not always be available. Supermarkets
or gardens may not always be viable food sources.
Therefore, consider your options for food sources and
storage:
1. Grow a garden-
growing a garden is a sound investment for a reliabe
source of safe, readily-available food. Investigate
strategies for a successful home garden that will
best utilize available space. If you are unable to
garden, make contacts with local farmers via farmers'
markets, etc. See preparedness links below for more
information.
2. Dehydrate fruit and vegetables- during
the garden season, eat fresh from your garden and
dehydrate the overflow. Purchase additional produce
from local farmers that you can also process for
storage.
3. Freeze fruit and vegetables- Live produce
can be successfully frozen, though the food will lose
about 30% of its nutritional value.
4. Store seeds and nuts (preferably in the shell)
and/or nut butters- purchase nuts and seeds
in bulk. Keep in cool storage or better yet, in the
freezer.
5. Invest in freeze-dried food- There are
many good sources of freeze-dried food, but exercise
caution concerning ingredients and non GMO factor.
6. Invest in live food supplements- Live
food supplements, especially 'superfoods'
like BarleyMax are a wise investment. They travel
well, are easily edible, and provide optimum
nutrition.

SUPPLEMENTS
Potassium Iodate- In the event
of a nuclear episode, exposure to
radiation can severely harm, if not destroy, the
thyroid gland. Without
a sufficient supply iodine, the thyroid cannot
function. Potassium Iodate
is an iodine preparation that will safely and
effectively protect the thyroid
from dangerous affects of radioactive fallout.
Potassium Iodate is preferred
over Potassium Iodide in that the latter formulation
can upset the stomach.
Minerals- Many, if not
most, health problems are the result of mineral
deficiencies. Poor lifestyle choices and stress can
also deplete the body's mineral reserves. Even on a
diet of organic, living food, it is still possible to
be mineral deficient, since the nutritional quality
of our food is dependent upon the quality of its
growing conditions, i.e. soil, water, air. To ensure
an adequate mineral supply, especially in times of
crisis, we recommend investing in a good mineral
supplement. For more information, contact http://www.meminerals.com
