Ministry update
Dear
Friends,
Greetings
from glorious Maine where the living is
healthy! We are enjoying a spectacular summer
that more than makes up for last year's rainy
wipe-out.
Thanks to picture-perfect days, record harvests are
coming in on the early side. Apples and corn are
already on the market, and Mainers are buying them
with eager delight. Now is the time to take advantage
of local harvests and start building a healthy,
wholesome,
'sustainable' lifestyle!'
To
help you onto the high road of health, we are gearing
up for our sixth annual LIVE FOOD PICNIC this Thursday.
This gathering of lively conversaton and 'live eats'
is a good
opportunity to meet and share with others the live
food
lifestyle. The setting is friendly and inviting, and
the food is
always fantastic! Plan to join us for this informal
adventure
where you can literally taste what it's like to eat
healthy!
Bring a raw dish, and if you have a testimony, please
share it! For more information, including picnic
guidelines
click here. Please note that August
19 is the rain date
for our picnic should the need arise.
We are happy to
announce that Christine Bemish who is a
specialist of the AtlasPROFilax® Method to correct
atlas
vertebrae misalignments will be with us in September.
The atlas is
the first cervical vertebra in the spine, and it
supports the head while being responsible for the
proper
alignment, balance, suspension, and control of the
entire
spinal and skeletal system. Misalignment of
the atlas can
cause a number of health problems such as
headaches,
migraines, numbness of the limbs, tendonitis,
tinnitus, lack
of mental clarity, emotional instability, chronic
stiffness and
pain of the neck, jaw, back, hips, and knees; along
with
numerous other maladies and imbalances of the system.
If you would like to take advantage of this
non-invasive,
corrective massage therapy please contact us. Appointments
are now being scheduled. Learn about AtlasPROFliax here.
This month's feature article, The Spiritual
Roots of Health,
is one that I hope will give you greater insight into
the health
issue. While the topic of wellness is usually
addressed from
a natural perspective, this article will approach it
from a
spiritual angle. Call it a personal catharsis or a
perhaps a
'mini-sermon,' this writing promises to be
thought-provoking
and possibly surprising. Nevertheless, it is
presented in
good faith with your better health in mind. I hope
this article
will make a positive, lasting impact on your life.
To further educate yourself on the all-important
issue of
health, we encourage you to investigate the videos
and news
story links that appear further along in this
newsletter. Without
a doubt, times are changing as the landscape of life
is being
challenged on every side. The subject of health
freedom should
be of foremost concern to every American, since the
globalist
agenda to control the masses through the food supply
and
forced vaccinations is a present reality. Codex
Alimentarius is
a major threat to life as we know it. Please
investigate the
politics of health for yourself. Your future depends
on the
actions you take now.
On a lighter note, we are happy to report that all is
well at
The Living Way. Like many, we are savoring the warmth
of
summer, and all that it brings. As usual our garden
is a way
of life for us during this season. Read our updated
garden
report (complete with new photos) here! We happily handle
our garden produce from soil and seed, to kitchen and
dining
table, and beyond. Our five dehydrators are humming
almost
24/7. When time allows, we disappear to our secluded
cottage
and nestle in for awhile to see and hear the sights
and sounds
of the lake and woods. YHVH is good to bless us with
these
short but sweet retreats. If you haven't taken time
this year to
'get away from it all,' we encourage you to do so.
Rest and
refreshment is an essential part of a healthy
lifestyle.
In closing, thank you for supporting this ministry
and being
part of The Living Way family. The quality of your
life is
important to us. Please note the prayer request
updates
that follow, the results of which prove once again
that prayer
makes a difference. Life is a spiritual journey. May
this
newsletter awaken and encourage your spirit that if
we will
reach out to YHVH Almighty, a better world is not
only
possible but it is yours for the taking now!
Prayer request updates:
Erik- Holding his own in the battle
against non-Hodgkin's
Lymphoma. His blood work shows improvement. He is
enjoying his new Hurom Slow Juicer.
Frank- Successfully completed his
stay at a health clinic
where he learned how to defeat his diabetes the 'raw
way.'
His diabetic neuropathy is gone as are two tumors. He
is back home and tells us, 'I feel better than I have
for
years.'
New ministry car- We are now driving
a friendly, affordable,
refurbished 1989 Volvo station wagon that (best of
all)
comes with a built-in mechanic. We are supremely
blessed
with our new vintage wheels and rejoice in the
goodness of
YHVH to keep us on the road.
Thank you for your continued prayers on behalf of
this
ministry! If you have a prayer request to share,
please
contact us.

3) Feature
Article: 'The Spiritual Roots of Health'
Many years ago a
friend remarked to me, 'Most things
in life are more spiritual than physical.' When I
first heard
these words, I thought them surprising, but on closer
examination, I realized that they were true. Life is
indeed
more than meets the eye. Little do we understand much
less
experience that rare and sometimes elusive commodity
called
'LIFE,' our lives being ruled by those things
physical: what we
see, hear, smell, taste, feel, and most of all- what
we want.
Thus our personal world, shaped by the senses,
becomes
an individual reality that is governed by the will, a
will that
can either make or break us, especially in relation
to our
health.

Maine Wild Blueberries
Blueberry season is here, and we are putting
together a bulk
order for these luscious blue jewels. The berries
come in a
10# flat for $35. They are clean (washed, winnowed,
destemmed) and an excellent quality. While they are
not completely organic, they're close. Our source
tells us that he applied herbicide to his field in
April 2009 to address sorrel
and goldenrod invasion, but the berries are not
sprayed.
If you would like to take advantage of this bulk
order, please
contact us as soon as possible while supplies are
available.
Almond Butter
Once Again Almond Butter (smooth/unsalted)
is on sale
this month through one of our co-op contacts. A 9#
bucket
is $35. This is an excellent price, considering the
regular
wholesale price averages $55.- $65. A one pound jar
of
Once Again Almond Butter retails for about $13. at
health
food stores. While this almond butter is not organic
or raw,
it is one of the better brands available. If you
would like to
order a bucket, let us know as soon as possible. The
order
deadline is August 16.
Equipment
purchases
If you want to purchase a juicer,
dehydrator, VitaMix, etc.,

Recipe: Cuke-O-la
One of the joys of
summer is the arrival of fresh cucumbers.
Thanks to abundant warm weather, sunshine, and rains,
this
year's cucumber crop is on the super side. As these
luscious
summer fruits (yes, cucumbers are classified as a
fruit) come
in, celebrate the harvest by making this cool,
refreshing drink.
Simple and tasty, this cooler promises to please any
palate!
1 large cucumber, including skin
2 stalks celery
1 large orange, peeled
Blenderize (with a
little extra purified water, if necessary)
and enjoy! For extra zest add herbs of choice, a
squeeze
of lemon or a small slice of ginger.
Organic ingredients
always recommended.
