Ministry update
Dear
Friends,
As I
begin writing this newsletter, temperatures
are mild and a light rain is falling. If this is any
indication of the coming winter, we will be thankful.
Nevertheless, our home fire is burning, and we
are settling in for the season of cold. Thus life
at The Living Way shifts into another healthy gear!
To help you onto the high road of health,
this
month's HANDS-ON HEALTH meeting, FOOD
FUN!, will feature creative culinary from our
LIVING Kitchen. This live food demonstration
promises to pique your appetite toward healthier
eating, offering hands-on how to's plus recipes
and samples! Join us for this up-close-and-personal
learning experience that will show you how to add
more nutrition into your daily diet. Bring
family and
friends. Learn more about this HANDS-ON HEALTH
meeting here.
"STRESS: A Modern Plague" is this
month's feature
article. In light of the increasing
challenges facing the
lives of most Americans, I felt this topic needed to
be
addressed. The article educates and offers practical
solutions for dealing with this common phenomenon.
For the sake of your better health, read up and
discover
the inside story on stress. What you learn could save
your life.
A
select number of important news links follow along
in this newsletter. As the headlines indicate, it is
becoming increasingly difficult to live healthy in an
unhealthy world. If you value your life, educate
yourself
on these important issues and happenings in order to
learn what you must do to ensure your wellbeing.
Consider subscribing to health-related news feeds for
up-to-date information about important health-related
developments.
Those
who are following my Garden Log for 2011
will want to check out recent posts: my garden
'good-byes' and a few parting shots. All in all, it
was
a good year. Read our latest garden report here.
We are now picking up the pieces from the gardening
season: putting away tools, tarps, and dried foods;
cleaning dehydrators, and organizing our kitchen
space.
The start of our indoor garden has now begun. Thanks
to the wood stove, sprouts are growing almost
overnight!
As the winter season settles in, we encourage you
to capitalize on your efforts to gain ultimate
health.
Spend time educating yourself about the importance
of proper diet and exercise. Step into the kitchen
and
start creating real meals, meals that are alive.
Begin
improving your eating habits by introducing more
living
foods into your daily diet. Slow down, relax, and
become
serious about living. It's easy to be sick and die,
but it
takes commitment, discipline, and personal
responsibility
to live. Choose to stay around. The world needs more
healthy people!
Those
of us at The Living Way continue to learn
the fine art of living each day. The journey toward
ultimate health is progressive, one step at a time.
Most often it is a slow but steady walk, but at least
we are moving in the right direction. We hope that
you can say the same. Healing comes as we are
willing to receive. Reach out and accept a better
life for yourself. Only you can make it happen.
...for every
one that asketh receiveth;
and he that seeketh findeth; and to him
that knocketh it shall be opened.
Matthew 7:8

3) Feature
Article: 'STRESS: A Modern Plague'
Stress. We all know what it is,
we all live with it,
but what, if anything, are we doing about it? Stress
is more common than the common cold, and while
it is a fairly recent phenomenon that now enjoys
widespread acceptance, from whence does stress
originate, and what can we do about it?

Recipe: Raw Pumpkin Pudding
One of the grand finales of the garden
season
is the pumpkin. These savory squashes often offer
a challenge to living foodists. However, pumpkins
can be eaten raw. Apart from grating them into
salads, they can be turned into other tasty treats
as well. Try this pumpkin pudding and see if you
don't agree.
1 cup shredded
pumpkin
1 stalk celery
sliver of onion
2 stems parsley
1 heaping tsp. honey
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup purified water
Blend ingredients with
enough water for creamy
consistency. Adjust ingredients to taste. Add or
substitute with pumpkin pie spices. Garnish with
fresh mint leaves and sprinkle of cinnamon.

more about the wonderful pumpkin here
Organic ingredients always
recommended.
