Ministry update
Dear
Friends,
The sun is smiling and
the grass is greening up.
From all appearances, it must be spring!
Nevertheless,
cool temperatures linger as do strong, steady winds.
Hopefully
this 'hold on to your hats' weather will
abate soon, so that our 2013 garden can begin!
While
we wait patiently for the weather to calm
down, inside work (like this newsletter) is the order
of the day. Hold on tight as we report our healthy
happenings!
First
up is this month's HANDS-ON HEALTH
meeting, 'Thyroid Health,'
which will explore the
inside story about the all-important thyroid gland.
Many people suffer thyroid dysfunction and do
not know it yet experience a myriad of its health-
related problems. Learn all about the small but
mighty thyroid gland and how to support it naturally.
This presentation could revolutionize the quality
of your life, so plan to attend and bring family and
friends. Details about our HANDS-ON HEALTH
meeting are posted here.
In an effort to focus on foods, this
month's
featured article, 'CHIA for Me!' serves
to
enlighten the reader about the wonders of this
tiny seed. Ancient in its origins, Chia seed has
only recently made its way into the American
diet. Power-packed with nutrition, Chia has
been quickly ranked as a superfood. Treat
yourself by discovering the tiny Chia seed,
and what it can do for you. Read up!
Those
who attended the 'Dave-the-Raw-Food-
Trucker' event at Dean's Good Groceries last
month enjoyed a singularly-special treat. Dave's
presentation was a testament to his tenacity to
learn how to be healthy and do
it! His personal
triumph over diabetes, colon cancer, heart problems,
obesity (430lbs worth), and other health issues
via a raw food diet is proof that
living foods work!
In case you are not yet aware: given living foods,
the body heals itself. The message as well as
the method is both simple and profound! 'Down-
to-earth' Dave was an inspiration to all. If you
missed Dave's presentation or would like to
remember it digitally, contact Laura for a DVD at
207-453-9895 or laura@centralmainecatv.com
Learn
more about Dave and his tour here.
Once again I have
loaded you with links to selective
news reports and health-related articles that are
worth consideration. Achieving superior health
begins with education and is followed by action!
Learn what you must to be strong and healthy!
It is not only fun and easy, but the benefits are
worth the effort. The quality of your life is up
to you, so make it the best by making it the
healthiest! Do your 'healthy homework!' It
pays off.
Additions to our
website are few but worth
exploring: photos of Dave-the-Raw-Food-
Trucker at his local appearance, our
2013 Garden report, and last but not least
our Radiation News page. Please take time
to educate yourself about the increasing
level of radioactive fallout that is entering the
atmosphere. Radioactive particles precipitate
sickness and disease. They can also be fatal.
Sadly, Americans are unwittingly receiving
'daily doses' of harmful isotopes. Do what
you must to protect yourself from radiation
poisoning!
We are happy to report
that all is well on the
home front. As usual, we maintain a happy,
healthy, productive lifestyle. With the change
of seasons, some projects are winding down
while others are winding up. The shift in action
keeps us on our toes, proving that change is
healthy!
Speaking of change,
due to new developments
in the ministry involving the long-awaited
restoration of our properties, beginning next
month our HANDS-ON HEALTH meetings
along with our LIVING Letter will be
suspended until fall. We will, however, hold
our annual LIVE FOOD PICNIC in August, email
announcements for which will be sent out as per
usual. If possible, updates to our website will be
made in order to better serve you in the midst of
increasing ministry demands. The decision to
make these changes reflects our need to rest
and 're-create' while overseeing construction
projects for our ministry properties. Therefore,
stay tuned and thank you for growing with us!
In closing, as a veteran Health Minister who has
built and maintains The Living Way
website,
we encourage you to explore the wealth of
information that has been posted over the
course of nearly sixteen years. Like many, we
have grown in the knowledge of how best to care
for ourselves. While we have yet much learning
to do, what is shared on our website is done to
benefit others that together we might realize the
quality of life that YHVH Almighty intends for us-
individually as well as corporately. May our
experience and acquired knowledge inspire
and ultimately challenge you to pursue excellence
of health. You can do it!
I can
do all things through Messiah
which strengthens me.
-Philippians 4:13

Recipe: Choco-Chia 'Milk'
Here is a healthy
alternative to conventional
cow milk that has a Chia twist. Quick and
easy to make, this milk promises to please!
1 banana
1-2 Tbsp. carob or cacao powder
1-2 Tbsp. chia seed
1-2 tsp. vanilla extract
few stems of fresh mint (optional)
2 cups approx. filtered water
Blend ingredients to
desired consistency,
adjusting to taste. Drink immediately, otherwise
the Chia seeds will thicken and turn the drink
into a pudding! Either way, it tastes great!
Make
me some Choco-Chia Milk!
Organic ingredients
always recommended.
