Breaking through the barriers of the
traditional Standard American Diet is a formidable
challenge that nutritional scientist and author,
Dr. T. Colin Campbell, and his son,
Nelson, undertook with compassion and
conviction for the sake of offering a better
and healthier quality of life for Americans.

PlantPure Nation documents the efforts of the
Campbells that began with a presentation in the Kentucky legislature and a proposed pilot program
to support the health benefits of a plant-based diet. Sadly, the program was derailed by powerful industry lobbyists who opposed the diet.

This defeat led Nelson Campbell to launch a grassroots approach for proclaiming the health
advantages of a plant-based diet. So it was that
he brought the message where it
was needed most: to the people.
